- All previous albums reached Reggae charts Top 10. (Their second album “Take aother look at love” hit No.1 spot). Colours of Love produced by Lloyd Charmers, was one of the groups best album.
- Were the driving force behind the British Reggae Artists Feminine Appeal Charity single “ lets make Africa green again” for Ethopia. The single was released on Island records and helped to raise over £8,000 to save the children. It recieved full support from princess Anne.
- Helped set-up the first annual black music award in the UK. In effect this was the fore runner to the now famous MOBO awards.
- Highly respected by Curtis mayfield after supporting him live on stage as his special guest in belgium
- Provided most of the music for the highly acclaimed musical revue “Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame”
- In 2004, The Blackstones made history by being the first group from the UK to record at Studio One and also they were the last act to be produced by the legendary Clement “Sir Coxson” Dodd, who sadly passed away in May,2004
- In October 2004, The blackstones were presented an achievement award for Black British History Day.
